Chewy Cookies and Cream Cookies with Oreos

Looking for an elevated twist on a classic? These Chewy Cookies and Cream Cookies are sure to impress!

Chewy cookies and cream cookie made with oreos and chocolate chips

I’m a die-hard cookies and cream fan – I’ve never been a huge chocolate person but sometimes vanilla isn’t cutting it; cookies and cream is literally the perfect pair. Not chocolatey but still flavorful Naturally, I’ve tried cookies and cream a few different ways – in ice cream, in cupcakes, even in yogurt – but I’ve never tried cookies.

While I was perfecting this recipe I would experiment on my coworkers and I would always be left with an empty container. This recipe is basically foolproof and I can confidently say this is the only Cookies and Cream Cookie recipe you will ever need.

I really leaned into the flavor here by using extra Oreos – because this is COOKIES and cream right? Go big or go home. Every bite has bits of cookie mixed throughout, which gives the cookies their signature look and flavor.

Why You’ll Love these Cookies and Cream Cookies

  • Oreo pieces in every bite.
  • Soft, Chewy centers with lightly crispy edges.
  • Easy to make with simple ingredients.
  • No chilling required.
  • Perfect for sharing (or keep them all to yourself).

Extra Oreos for Maximum Cookies and Cream Flavor

I’ve made this recipe before with fewer Oreos, and while they’re still delicious, adding extra really takes it to the next level. The cookies are more packed, more textured, and unmistakably cookies and cream.

If you love Oreos DO NOT hold back here. Having a mix of small and large chunks gives the best result – more flavor throughout and bigger pieces of Oreo to find!

A Note on Vanilla Extract

For this batch, I used Trader Joe’s Bourbon Vanilla Extract, and it adds such a warm, suble depth to the cookies, and pairs really nicely with the chocolate and Oreos without overpowering them.

That said – I’ve made this with regular vanilla extract plenty of times and they’re still amazing. Don’t feel like you need anything special. But if you happen to have the Bourbon vanilla on hand, I highly recommend using it.

For this recipe I used Trader Joe’s Bourbon Vanilla Extract but I’ve tried this recipe with regular vanilla extract and its still delicious! The Bourbon extract just takes it to the next level for me.

Tips for Best Texture

  • Don’t overbake – cookies should look slightly soft and underdone in the center.
  • Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before moving – about 10 minutes.
  • Use room temperature butter for best texture.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them chewy.
